6.5 Timberwolf
Picture
The 6.5 Timberwolf is a wildcat round made from 6mm Norma Dasher brass to fit the ar15 and gives close to 260 Remington performance in a smaller package of the AR15.  Initial testing shows the performance to fall at the bottom of 260 Rem/6.5 Creedmoor performance with 24” barrels achieving  2800-2900 with a 123 gran bullet and 2600-2700 fps with the 140 class bullets. A 123 ELD at 2900 fps only has 294 inches of drop at 1000 yards and is still traveling 1325 fps with 580 ftlbs or energy very impressive numbers for the AR15.

The Timberwolf is made by fire forming 6mm Norma Dasher brass to 6.5 Timberwolf. That is done by either loading long or creating a false shoulder. The brass can also be made from most other 308 based case but will require neck turning and they will have less case capacity than the Dasher brass.
